London event July 6th 2005

David Carson and John Reed travelled from Western Australia to host a meeting of interested parties from Cornwall and elsewhere at the Western Australian Business Centre in the Strand, central London. Phil Lavery and Robert Osfield from the Digital Learning Foundation travelled from Glasgow with a Present3D stereoscopic imaging system, and gave the audience a demonstration of its suitability as a platform.

The day started with a live videoconference between the group in London and Adam Wolfe in the Western Australian Museum-Geraldton, which gave Adam the opportunity to give the historical background to the mining district of Northampton and the Cornish people who came there.

The outcome of the event exceeded expectations, creating a focus for the UK stakeholders, an opportunity for them to meet each other and discuss future strategies for the development of the project.

The event was funded by Geopix, Dave Carson and John Reed with financial assistance from ArtsWA, and assistance in-kind from the Office of the Western Australian Agent General in London, Greythorne Associates and GeeViz Software.

3Diaspora's HD Present3D visualisation system is now operational at CLEAR in the Innovation Centre. We would like to thank Peter Why from Technology Park for providing us with the use of a G5 computer.
